Child Find Saskatchewan is a registered charity established in 1984. Our mandate is to assist the legal parent or guardian in locating their children who have been the victim of a stranger or parental abduction, or who may have wandered off or run away. We work with families and law enforcement who have requested our assistance in the search for a missing person.
Child Find offers support by listening to the families needs and advising them on a possible plan of action. Families are then referred to the appropriate agencies as needed. We help with obtaining proper legal documentation regarding custody or updating court orders and assisting them with printed materials. Child Find also uses social media to assist in getting the missing persons image and circumstances of their disappearance out to the public. We notify other agencies and collaborate our efforts when the situation arises.
Our services, our educational and preventative programs are offered free to all searching families in Saskatchewan. Child Find Saskatchewan receives limited government funding and we rely heavily on the donations from businesses, corporations, and individuals.
Our Mission Statement:
Child Find Saskatchewan is a provincial organization that educates and advocates for the protection and rights of children and youth. We promote awareness of the issue relating to missing persons.
In November of 2005, we joined the Premier’s Missing Person Task Force as part of the Provincial Partnership Committee on Missing Persons.
We believe that a missing person is everyone’s responsibility and that everybody has the right to be safe.
